If you're a new reader (Hi Missy! Hi Mo!) you might not know that I've been a KlutzPrincess since Paul McCartney was a pup. Last summer when I broke my foot and then sliced open a finger, I documented some of my klutzier moves.
Last night, in a hurry to stock the shelves at work and get home to see the last 10 minutes of American Idol, I sliced my hand open again.
You know that webbing of skin and stuff that holds your thumb to your index finger? I split it wide open with the biggest, dirtiest box cutter in the world.
It hardly bled, but from the pain, I guess I cut about 12 different nerves.
I put on my I AM NOT A WIMP hat and refused to let my boss call an ambulance. It was a competition to see which one of us would pass out first. I almost won when the room starting spinning and I had to sit down so she could dump half a bottle of H2O2 on it.
It was AN INCIDENT! So she filled out an INCIDENT! report.
I don't think it could have been stitched, in such a wonky place. So I loaded it with Neosporin and have 4 layers of bandages and tape and a pressure glove on it. And I ate a Ghiradelli-Heath Toffee-Walnut Brownie.
If it doesn't seem like it's healing, I'll have my doctor check it out.

yikes! I hope the Ghiradelli treatment is working. If not, I suggest repeating the dosage every hour or so.
I think chocolate is an excellent medication.
I think you have a workers comp claim there. At least they should pay for the doctor's visit.
goodness gracious, girlfriend...
Wow, that sounds so painful. I like that groovy blue thing that fits right over your hand! Very useful. Chocolate was a good choice, but you definately have a Workers Comp claim as long as your employer has a policy. (I'm a CSR for an insurance broker). Thanks for the shout out on your blog!
I can't believe they let you off without a doctor visit--go asap, you may have long-term implications and you want it all in the record. Yes, I think like a lawyer.
When I was 18 I came this close to lose my ability to have an opposable thumb on my left hand due to box cutter injury. Imagine how that would have limited my blogging career!
