How Long, How Long

How long, how long
Muddy River runs so deep
How long, how long
Rock yourself to sleep
~How Long~The Eagles

How long was the power out? My family is all in Southeastern MA. Irene was a Tropical Storm by the time it hit there. My Mom's power was out for 7 hours. My sister's was out for 24 hours and my brother's was out for about 48 hours. When Hurricane Bob ran through there in 1991 our power was out for 10 days...no electricity, water, toilets. My kids were 3 and 6. It sucked.

How long did it take me to read Bossypants? 7 hours. Seriously funny.

How long have I been non-employed? (that's unemployed by choice) 8 months. I picked up an application for a place where I worked about 10 years ago when we still lived in MA. It's a big store that sells books. At the time, I loved the store, hated the schedule (too many late nights when my kids were young teens) and bumped heads with the store manager (not the one that originally hired me) about my schedule. Every time I go to the store here to shop I wish I was working there, so I may give it a shot again.

How long until our vacation starts? 11 days!! We have tickets for a football game. University of Tropical Paradise is playing Boston College. We'll be sitting on the BC side, but I'll be wearing a UCF shirt.
Then we'll head up to Amelia Island FL, Tybee Island GA and Savannah GA. There may or may not be a Haunted Pub Crawl, some outlet shopping, some bike riding, some beach, some golf, some sunset and some wild horses.

How long have I been blogging? Since 11/01/07. And this is only my 400th post. I have serious respect for the bloggers who do it at least 5 times a week. I need to step it up!

You ought to go apply at that bookstore - bookstores aren't doing well and this could be your last chance.

You're waiting for so many things! I hope you work in a bookstore. I can see you doing that--reader that you are!

I'm glad your power came back so fast. My entire east coast family is still without power. And my brother and his wife have little ones too. I hope their Irene is not like your Bob.

Green Girl is right. You're the perfect bookstore employee! Except you might spend your whole paycheck on books. ;)

Can't wait to hear about your vacation. Sounds fantastic!

400 posts is commendable no matter how long it took. I thought I'd start blogging again as soon as I was back in the house (we did a major renovation last year). I'm enjoying the break too much. Still love to make crap, just hate to write about it.
