Photos: Citrus Shopping In February

We had a mission today. ORANGES and GRAPEFRUITS.
We knew where we were heading, but decided to go a way we've never been before. We were in Lake County, west of Orlando, a far cry from the Magic Kingdom.
When we spotted this sign, we made a U-Turn.

We decided to get a 1/4 bushel that was already picked. 1/4 bushel is 10-12 pounds, depending on what kind of fruit you get. You can also go into the groves and pick your own.
You go through the farm stand and out to the groves. There are signs at the top of each row that say what kind of citrus are planted there.

KUMQUATS- Sweet on the outside, SOUR on the inside. Idea for next winter-Kumquat Infused Vodka.
We walked up and down a few rows and sampled because the signs said we could. We headed back to the stand.
I didn't take a picture of the 4 foot long POISONOUS Water Moccasin.
I was walking too fast!
This guy was also walking fast, right toward me!
We looked at the giant tomatoes, then looked at each other and said "BLT's for dinner".
I call this......Still Life With Orchid and Armadillo

DEAR BOSSY,
Lemon season is in November. I'll hook you up.

Oh man--orange trees are SO beautiful! I envy your field trip--apple picking is so lame in comparison. We may have to trek your way to do this someday.

Oh, wow, that looks GREAT!

Do you ever wonder why you didn't move south earlier in life?
